The Next Steps

Before you can build an ADU, there are some important steps to go through to make sure the living space will be built properly and according to all regulations.

Can You have an ADU? According to Ontario ADU Regulations, not all properties are candidates for an ADU. We will do the initial assessment to see whether an ADU is allowed on your property.
Property Assessment. First we have to make sure that the space for your ADU is adequate and up to code. Not all basements or attics can be converted to a viable and separate living space. If you decide to construct a free-standing ADU, your property must be assessed to ensure that the size of your ADU will be adequate, meeting zoning bylaws, set-back regulations, and building codes. All ADUs must have free and clear access to the unit without passing through an existing living space or someone else’s property.
Design. We custom design all ADUs to meet the space requirements of your property, your needs, your budget, and to meet building codes.
Construction. After the assessment to ensure that we can go ahead with your ADU project, we will acquire the necessary permits and begin construction. We will schedule the inspections and make sure everything is finished and cleaned before we leave.
